Winter

The holidays are behind us and we are looking forward to what…spring? Hold up, winter just got here! It’s amazing how fast people have skipped over all the joys associated with winter. The crisp air, brisk mornings, and fresh snow all serve us some good. How about getting cozy on the couch with someone you love and a few extra blankets? – you gonna pass that up? While waiting for the snow to drop Sean and I have been out revisiting the coastal scenes capturing the cold and enjoying the loss of feeling in our fingers… I love winter.

Gearing up for the Holidays

Yes the holidays are upon us – For me the transition into the holiday season is a gradual one; marked by brisk mornings, the scent of evergreens in the house, gatherings with old acquaintance, and laughs with the family. Most people are too caught up finding the next bargain when in-fact warmest gifts are found in the smiles, stories, and kind gestures of the people around us.

Time for some more spiced eggnog…

Jen & Noah

Jen and Noah were married last summer at the Branford House Mansion in Groton, CT. Their ceremony was held on the green overlooking Long Island Sound in the presence of family and friends – It was a beautiful afternoon and it was our pleasure to take park in their special day. These images had appeared on the older version of our site, but we felt that they warranted publishing on our new blog-style site as well.

Head of the Charles – 2011

October 23rd

For Sunday’s event I set up on Anderson Memorial Bridge to watch as the crews pushed their way up the Charles. It was a brisk afternoon and the sun never broke through to warm the crowds huddled along the river. As usual the bridges spanning the Charles were the most popular vantage point watch the action. U.s. Coast Guard Academy women placed 7th with a final time of 17:43.61

The Men at the U.s. Coast Guard Academy placed 23 with a final time of 16:23.51

East Lyme High School Men placed 70th with a time of 17:56.64

Copertino Wedding

Here are some sample photos from the Copertino wedding that we shot earlier last month. More of these to come later. The wedding was held at the Lake of Isles, which is a beautiful 36-hole golf course on the Mashantucket Pequot reservation in southeastern Connecticut. The weather didn’t cooperate, but the facility was able to stand on its own and provide a wonderful setting for the ceremony and reception. Congratulations to Scott and Christine, We had a great time shooting your wedding!

New and Improved Site – sandsperspective.com mkII

Mike and I are in the process of re-inventing the galleries. Some of the major changes have been made, and we are going to begin uploading a lot of our older content under the constraints of this new format. In the meantime, head to http://www.sandsperspective.com/gallery2/ to view the previous iteration of our site and browse through the galleries. I’m planning on leaving the gallery2 installation up for the long haul as a kind of archive and time capsule, could be neat to look back at in a few years and laugh at how dated it is and remember where we started.
